Abby, Laurie and Spanky
Abby could not get enough of Spanky. It was really quite adorable watching her interact with Spanky. There really is nothing better than the sound of a child's laughter - especially a little girl.
Abby also discovered her knees and what she could do with them last week. A few days before she turned 9 months, it is like she wanted to check off a few things off her development list, so she started really crawling and pulling herself up into a standing position on the very same day! She has been scooting on her stomach for a few months, but I think she got tired of being a mop for the floors, so she started picking up her stomach and using her knees. Now, she loves getting on her knees and seeing what the world looks like from that vantage point. She is pulling herself up but has yet to figure out how to get herself back down! It is pretty cute watching her try to figure it out and then I help her bend her knees so she can go back down to a crawling or sitting position.

Abby Trying to Get Through the Gate on the Stairwell
This week has been rough for me because I had to go back to work and drop Abby at her new home away from home, Primrose School. I think Abby will get really good care and enjoy herself, but the first day, I was a mess. I cried all the way in on my drive to work. I was not upset so much to go back to work(ok, maybe a little), but I was upset because I knew I would miss Abby terribly. I had a lump in my throat for several days before I dropped Abby off every time we drove by Primrose. After being with Abby 24/7 for over two months, the adjustment will take some time for me. Not for Abby. She is just a little trooper. Her caregivers said she was an angel, is always smiling, and never cries. Yep, that's Abby in a nutshell. What a relief though to drop her off and see her smile when I put her in someone else's arms for the day.
